The Sidney Stringer Multiple Academy Trust is looking for artist/s or an arts organisation to work with 5 schools in Coventry to deliver a programme of high quality arts experiences that explore the theme of 'Memories'.
The arts experiences will be based around Visual Arts (eg. textiles, printing, drawing, painting digital art forms etc.) with 2 Primary schools and 1 Special school, and Performance Arts (eg. physical theatre, circus, drama, spoken word etc.) with 2 Secondary schools leading towards a Celebration Event 10 or 11 July 2019.
Commissions available:
– £2700 for Performance Arts Artist/Arts Organisation to work with two Secondary Schools
– £4300 for Visual Art Artists/Arts Organisation to work with two primary schools and one special school
"We are open to applications that explore performance and visual arts as individual art forms and/or collectively and link to the theme of ‘Memories’ in a way that we haven’t anticipated. We are excited about different approaches and ideas on the theme and the combination of art forms; as well as the great opportunity to develop work that could build up to the Coventry City of Culture 2021.
"You will be supported through the partnership with Arts Connect, the Arts Council’s Bridge organisation for the West Midlands and each school has a lead teacher as the Arts Ambassador as part of the Arts Ambassador school network. The programme in each school will involve a maximum of 2 classes and involve children 6-14 years old."
