Beatfreeks' Don't Settle project is seeking two freelance artists who will help young people from minoritised communities in Birmingham and the Black Country to change the voice of heritage through the arts, research and governance.
"This role is a one year opportunity to plan and deliver 10 workshops that facilitate the development of young people’s skills in producing two artistic events. Using alternative narratives to achieve this, both artists will help young people reclaim heritage spaces that have traditionally excluded minoritised communities."
The Don’t Settle project will work in collaboration with Birmingham Museums Trust, Chance Glass Works Heritage Trust and the Black Studies Research Cluster at Birmingham City University. Don’t Settle is funded by Heritage Lottery Fund.
