In a bold move to strengthen community connections and enhance well-being, three of Herefordshire’s leading cultural organisations have united to launch Our Place - a three-year programme empowering communities across the county.
Unveiled at the historic Grange Court in Leominster, Our Place addresses challenges like rural isolation and loneliness by opening new pathways for creative engagement. Through visual arts, digital media, and live performances, the programme will create accessible cultural experiences across Leominster, South Wye, and the Golden Valley - reflecting the diversity of Herefordshire’s communities.
The programme aims to build lasting community connections, ensure that arts and culture are accessible to all, and use creativity to enhance mental and physical well-being across Herefordshire.
Our Place is a collaboration between:
- Meadow Arts - over 20 years of experience in bringing contemporary art to unexpected often rural locations in the West Midlands
- Rural Media - over three decades of digital storytelling and media innovation
- Leominster Roars Cultural Consortium - a dynamic new collective energising the local cultural scene
Our Place is led by the Herefordshire Cultural Partnership and supported by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England and match funding from Herefordshire Council under the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and public health.
The launch event was attended by over sixty partners and representatives. About Face Theatre Company and The Fetch Theatre welcomed guests to Grange Court, providing energy to the event with magnificent puppetry and live theatre. As part of the launch event, a short film showcased the impact of the participating organisations and highlighted the programme's goals to bring arts and culture to everyone in Herefordshire.
